Step-by-Step

  1. 1

    Schedule: Scan the QR code included with your cable to book your session on BDT's scheduling page.

  2. 2

    Download TeamViewer Quick Support: Google "TeamViewer" → click Quick Support → download and install. This gives BDT secure remote access to your laptop — no IT experience needed.

  3. 3

    Connect battery charger: Hook up positive terminal first, negative last. Set to 10–25 amps and leave it connected the entire session.

  4. 4

    Key on, engine off (accessory mode): Press the start button with no foot on the brake. All dash lights on — engine does not start.

  5. 5

    Plug in the cable: Connect the BDT tuning cable to your OBDII port (lower dash, driver's side) and the USB end into your laptop.

  6. 6

    Share your TeamViewer ID & password: BDT logs into your laptop remotely, selects your exact calibration file, and loads it to the car — you watch it happen in real time.

  7. 7

    Key off on command: BDT tells you exactly when. The car resets all modules — temporary fault codes across every module are completely normal and will clear.

  8. 8

    Disconnect & drive: Remove charger (negative first, then positive), start the car, and go.

The whole flash takes about 15–20 minutes. BDT is live on call with you the entire time. You never click a button you're unsure about.

WATCH: HOW REMOTE TUNING WORKS

After the flash: Your car may show fault codes in multiple modules — this is 100% normal. When one module is flashed it tells every other module to reset. They clear on their own after a short drive cycle.

Stage 2 pushes the K03 turbo to its absolute limit: faster spool, harder mid-range torque, and crisp power delivery that stays smooth enough to daily. With a high-flow exhaust opening up the breathing, we push refined boost targeting, stronger torque management, and harder mid-range pull — all on pump gas. This is as far as the stock turbo goes.

Note: Effect may be more subtle on stock exhaust systems. Safety logic reduces crackles if exhaust temperatures rise excessively.

A: If you're completely stock with no hardware changes, Stage 1 is the entry point — no mods needed at all. If you're running a high-flow exhaust and want maximum power from the K03 turbo, Stage 2 unlocks everything it has to offer.

 

Q: Does this work for both FWD and 4Motion?
A: Yes — this calibration supports both front-wheel drive and 4Motion AWD Tiguan models.

 

Q: Is this safe on a stock car?
A: Yes — Stage 1 is designed for factory hardware with OEM-style safeguards and torque modeling. Stage 2 requires supporting hardware as listed.

 

Q: What fuel do I need?
A: Both Stage 1 and Stage 2 run 93 octane for best results. We calibrate to your fuel quality and climate.

 

Q: Does Stage 2 require a high-flow exhaust?
A: Yes — a high-flow exhaust is non-negotiable for Stage 2. Intake and intercooler upgrades are also strongly recommended for heat control and repeatable results.

 

Q: Do I need a TCU / DSG tune?
A: It's not mandatory, but highly recommended for both stages. The TCU tune optimizes shift points, raises torque limits, and unlocks higher rev limits in Neutral/Park.

 

Q: Do I need to visit a shop?

Q: What drive modes have crackles?
A: Dynamic/Sport mode only on all stages. Comfort/Auto stay refined and quiet.

 

Q: What computer do I need to flash?
A: A Windows laptop is required. macOS / Apple is not supported. You'll also need 50+ Mbps internet, 8GB RAM minimum, and a stable USB connection.

 

Q: Can I upgrade from Stage 1 to Stage 2 later?
A: Yes. No need to purchase the next stage at full price — purchase our retune option to jump to Stage 2 once you add your high-flow exhaust and supporting mods. Contact BDT to discuss upgrading.

 

Q: Can I go beyond Stage 2?
A: Stage 2 maxes out the K03 turbo. For more power, you'd need a K04 turbo upgrade. Contact BDT if you're interested in big turbo builds.
