Hardware Required None Intake + High-Flow Exhaust

Power figures are wheel horsepower/torque (WHP/WTQ). Results vary with dyno type, altitude, heat-soak, and fuel quality.

Stage 1 — No Hardware Required

Stage 1 is a stock-turbo, stock-exhaust calibration designed for a completely unmodified vehicle. No hardware changes needed — just flash and drive.

⚠️ High-flow exhaust is NOT compatible with Stage 1. If you have a high-flow exhaust installed, you need Stage 2.
Optimized boost curves
Refined ignition timing
Improved throttle response
Speed limiter removed
Neutral/Park rev limit raised
Torque limiters raised
Auto Start/Stop defaults OFF
LPFP/HPFP targets optimized
VVT optimization
Intake air temp safeties
EGT safety logic
Crackle pops (optional)

Highly Recommended: Cold air intake + upgraded intercooler for heat consistency.

Stage 2 — Hardware Required

Stage 2 maximizes the factory turbo's safe efficiency range with required supporting modifications.

Aggressive boost targets
Advanced ignition maps
Increased rev limiter
Speed limiter removed
Enhanced mid-range torque
Torque limiters raised
LPFP/HPFP targets optimized
VVT optimization
Intake air temp safeties
EGT safety logic
Reduced turbo lag
Crackle pops (optional)

Required: Air intake + High-flow exhaust. Highly Recommended: Upgraded intercooler + drivetrain inserts.

Crackle Pops — Overrun Burbles

Add that aggressive exhaust burble on decel and lift-off. Available in four intensity levels:

  • Low — Subtle pops, daily-friendly
  • Medium — Noticeable burbles, spirited driving
  • Intense — Loud crackles, aggressive sound
  • Flames — Maximum aggression

Crackle effect is more pronounced with aftermarket exhaust systems. Stock exhaust will produce a softer tone. Tuned with RPM windows and exhaust temp safeties.

Remote Tuning — Flash From Home

No shop visit required. We flash your ECU live over a remote session while you sit in your car with your laptop. The entire process takes about 15–20 minutes.

? Windows laptop required. macOS is not supported. Must have a stable internet connection (50+ Mbps) and a USB port.

Place your order and select your cable option.

Receive your BDT OBD2 cable in the mail (if ordered with cable).

Schedule your flash appointment via email or text.

Download TeamViewer Quick Support on your Windows laptop.

Connect the cable to your car and laptop, key on (engine off).

Connect a battery charger (10–25 amp) to maintain voltage during flash.

Join the remote session — we handle the rest.

Drive and enjoy your new power!
? Cable Return Policy: Cable must be returned within 3 business days of your tune or a $1,000 charge applies. Prepaid return label included.
Recommended Maintenance Schedule

IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO SURVIVE, THESE MUST BE DONE. I DON'T RECOMMEND THESE FOR FUN — I'VE TUNED COUNTLESS EA888 CARS AND THIS IS WHAT I'VE SEEN THROUGH THE YEARS.

Component Interval
Spark Plugs — NGK R7438-8 or OEM Every 15–20K miles
Engine Oil — 5W-40 Liqui Moly + OEM Filter Every 5K miles
Transmission Service / Flush (OEM fluid only) Every 30K miles
MAP Sensors — OEM only (intake + before TB) Inspect at 50K miles
PCV Valve Assembly Replace at 50K miles
Fuel Injectors + Carbon Cleaning Every 65K miles

Consistent maintenance ensures your tune performs optimally and protects your engine long-term. If you can't afford the parts, please don't tune your car.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What do I need for Stage 1 on my Passat 1.8T?
A: Nothing required beyond a healthy stock car. Intake, intercooler, and fresh plugs are strongly recommended for best results.

Q: Is a high-flow exhaust compatible with Stage 1?
A: No. If you have a high-flow exhaust installed, you need Stage 2.

Q: What do I need for Stage 2?
A: A high-flow exhaust and air intake are required. Intercooler and fresh plugs are strongly recommended.

Q: Can I flash at home?
A: Yes. Remote OBDII flashing with support is included. A Windows laptop is required.

Q: What fuel should I use?
A: 93 octane is required. We can build maps for 91 octane if that's all you have available in your area.

Q: Do you offer custom map setups?
A: Absolutely. We can adjust pop levels, fuel targets, and boost behavior while keeping safeties intact.

Q: Can I upgrade from Stage 1 to Stage 2 later?
A: Yes. Pay the difference and schedule a reflash once your hardware is installed.

Q: What if I miss my appointment?
A: A $50 fee applies for late arrivals or no-shows. Reschedule at least 1 hour in advance.
