Q: Which stage is right for me?
A: If you’re completely stock with no hardware changes, Stage 1 is the entry point — no mods needed at all. Stage 1+ pushes boost further on pump gas. If you have access to E85, Stage 1+ E85 gives a huge jump with no exhaust mods. If you’re running a high-flow exhaust, Stage 2 (pump gas) or Stage 2+ E85 (ethanol) unlock the most power.
Q: Is this safe on a stock car?
A: Yes — Stage 1 and Stage 1+ are designed for factory hardware with OEM-style safeguards and torque modeling. Stages 2 and 2+ E85 require supporting hardware as listed.
Q: What fuel do I need?
A: Stage 1, Stage 1+, and Stage 2 run 91/93 octane pump gas. Stage 1+ E85 requires E85. Stage 2+ E85 requires full E85 only (no blending). We calibrate to your fuel quality and climate.
Q: Is a TCU tune available?
A: No TCU tune is available right now for the B9.5 hybrid platform. All stages are calibrated to work safely with the stock TCU.
Q: Do I need to visit a shop?
A: Nope. All stages flash from home through OBDII with remote support.
Q: What drive modes have crackles?
A: Dynamic mode only on all stages. Comfort/Auto stay refined and quiet.
Q: What computer do I need to flash?
A: A Windows laptop is required. macOS / Apple is not supported. You’ll also need 50+ Mbps internet, 8GB RAM minimum, and a stable USB connection.
Q: Can I upgrade between stages later?
A: Yes. No need to purchase next stage for full price. Purchase our retune option to jump to the next stage. If you need more information contact BDT to discuss upgrading your calibration as you add hardware or switch to E85.
