How It Works — Flash It Yourself

No appointments. No screen-share. The free BDT Flasher app puts the tune in your driveway — plug in, pick your map, hit Flash. Your RS5 sounds different in 20 minutes. Your ECU and transmission both flash from the same app.

1

Download — grab the free BDT Flasher. One-click Windows installer, 30 seconds.

2

Plug In — Tactrix Openport 2.0 OBDII cable from your laptop to the port under the dash.

3

Sign In — your purchased tunes show up automatically. Pick your map.

4

Send It — hit Flash. 15–20 minutes, then pull out of the driveway.

Existing BDT customer? Text (843) 891-6687 and we'll load your tune into the flasher.

Nine Maps. One Cruise Stalk.

BDT Multi-Map Switching carries nine overrun-crackle calibrations in the car with you — Map 1 a restrained low-rpm tick, Map 9 full pop-and-bang. No laptop, no reflash: you change character live from the cruise lever, and the tachometer’s redline doubles as your on-screen map indicator.

1

Hold SET at the tip of the cruise lever for 2–5 seconds — the redline sweeps to the map you last ran. You’re now in map-select.

2

Release SET, then tap the stalk up or down to step through the maps.

3

Read it off the tach — the redline parks at the map number × 1,000 rpm: Map 1 at 1,000, Map 5 at 5,000.

4

Maps 7–9 sit above where the redline can travel, so the gauge won’t show them — keep tapping past six and count your clicks to reach 7, 8 or 9.

Valet-quiet on Map 1, full send on Map 9 — switched at any stoplight, no tools.

A True Custom Tune. Three Free Revisions.

This is not an off-the-shelf flash. Every BDT calibration for this platform includes three complimentary custom revisions and full data-logging support.

You log your own car through the BDT Flasher — boost, timing, load, intake temperatures, fueling and knock activity — then send us the data. We refine the calibration to your exact engine, fuel, hardware and climate and send it back to flash at home. The result is a tune dialed to your car specifically, not a generic file sprayed across every VIN. Three rounds of refinement are on us; most cars are sorted well inside that.

Do It Yourself — ZF Transmission Service

Fluid, filter and pan, start to finish, filmed in the BDT shop on a B9.5 RS5 2.9T — the same ZF 8-speed family as this car. Sound on.

ZF Transmission Service — Fluid + Filter + Pan

Why We Push This Service

The ZF 8-speed is the strongest part of the drivetrain when its fluid is fresh, and the first thing to complain when it is not. A tune adds torque; old fluid and a tired filter add heat and slip. OEM ZF fluid only, pan and filter together, at the interval above. The video walks the whole job so you know exactly what a shop is charging you for — or how to do it yourself.

Your ECU Is Safe

Your stock file is savedWe read and archive your factory file before a single byte is written. You can flash back to stock at any time, free.
Verified writes, safe abortsEvery flash is checksum-verified. If the connection drops mid-write the process aborts safely and can be resumed — it does not leave your ECU half-written.
You talk to the calibrator11+ years of in-house VAG calibration. The person who built your file is the person on the phone — not a reseller passing on someone else’s tune.
