Q: What mods do I need for Stage 1?
A: None required. Spark plugs (BKR8EIX .028 gap) and an upgraded DV are recommended.
Q: What do I need for Stage 2?
A: A high-flow exhaust and spark plugs are required. DV and TCU tune are highly recommended.
Q: What does Stage 2+ add over Stage 2?
A: Stage 2+ adds an HPFP upgrade on top of the Stage 2 requirements. The extra fueling headroom lets the factory turbo hit its absolute ceiling safely.
Q: What do I need for Stage 3?
A: Full big-turbo build: turbo upgrade, injectors, HPFP, air intake, intercooler, high-flow exhaust, upgraded DV, spark plugs, and TCU tune. K04 is safe on stock block. GT28 or bigger needs forged rods.
Q: Is 2-Step available on automatic?
A: No. 2-Step and No-Lift-Shift are only available on manual transmission ECUs.
Q: How does Plug & Play work?
A: BDT ships a pre-tuned ECU with immobilizer deleted. You remove your stock ECU, plug in the BDT unit, and drive. No laptop, no cables, no software needed.
Q: What fuel do I need?
A: 91/93 octane for all stages.
Q: What if I have an upgraded turbo but want Stage 1 or 2?
A: If your turbo has been upgraded (including K04), you must purchase Stage 3. Stage 1/2/2+ power targets are calibrated around the stock turbo.
